Sitting here,on my birthday, thinking I should be doing bookkeeping not "surfing" but what the heck!! Thanks to everyone for the birthday greetings ... much apreciated even though these birthdays seem to be coming around ever more quickly!

Weather is very hit & miss at the moment ... as is trade. Its either heaving & full or very quiet , something very odd is happening. People are starting to ask about Xmas and Krampus, so if any of you are interested in Krampus  please don't forget to conatct me. I'll be doing my usual phoning around in September.

We've decided to go on our annual holiday to Austria in January 2011 instead of our usual October trip ... thought it might make a change.

That's it for today, should try to get back to "cooking" the books !!

First 2 Krampus nights over!! All went really well. The new waitresses enjoyed their first experience and screamed quite royally! Becca was draggged from her hiding place under a table!  Another 3 to go, hope I get rid of this really tiring head cold soon, it seems to be going on forever, and also means I've missed my last 2 excersize classes.. hope the weight isn't creeping back on.

Christmas day is fully booked and New years Eve is looking quite healthy too. Just a slight lack of weekday xmas parties this year.... too many discos being offered elsewhere probably! Have posted new Krampus photos on the Gallery already so please take a look and maybe join us next year!

Haven't had a lot of time to "blog" lately, which is a good thing customers keep telling us!!  

We had a really really good "staff reunion" it was fab to see a lot of my "girls" (   & 2 boys). Catching up with all their news of jobs, relationships & children was great!! I posted the photos ages ago but haven't had time to write.

Took our first Christmas day and New years Eve bookings this week, well I suppose it isn't all that long to go really .Keep checking for the updated menus on the website, assuming I'll ever have time to do them!

We've catered for the local Rotary and Colwyn Bay Lions club over the last 2 weeks as well as all our usual business, successfully I believe.

Still going to Rosemary Connley Diet & Fitness group weekly, had a bit of a shock this week put nearly 2lbs ON, wasn't expecting that as I've been running around like the proverbial blue a***** fly for over a month now.Seriously it is me slipping back into the picking food between meals habit and of course too many" winding down drinks" time to pull myself together after all I'm nearly at the 3 stone target.

My two new staff members Hannah & Emma are doing really well, and are great to have around but of course I am really missing Anwen! Will try & get photos onto the site asap.

Well, time to get back to the cleaning! Will try to write again soon

Hi there!

Christmas and New year passed again! Now we're into our 20th year!!!! Sounds like it could be a difficult one, but so far we've had a few more customers in than last January, which is anyway always a quiet month. Am looking for staff this year, one girl has left (she didn't need the hassle -- apparently!) and my longest serving giirl finishes her Degree in May and I'm sure will easily find a teaching post for September as she is really clever and hardworking... what will I do without her!

We had Radio Cymru here last wekk to do a feature for "blas" theier food programme. My mum had to do nearly all the talking as it was all in Weish.... she played a blinder and it went out yesterday (repeated next Sunday 13.15) and sounded really good!

I'm up to my ears in Bookkeeping at the moment, although I do keep finding other things to do, like cleaning, to avid it. Will have to get down to it though as the VAT is due end of January... that's how exciting my life is at the moment.

No new messages in the gues book which is disappointing, so if you're reading this maybe you'd like to have a go!

Krampus nights all over ...   all went really well although I say it myself.... bookings already taken for next year!

Since then we've had a couple of busy Sundays, a party last Wednesday + a couple of a all carte tables, about 100 people up in December which has come as a welcome surprise in this "credit crunch" atmosphere.

We're lucky enough to have 3 days off before Christmas Day Lunch, a bit of a treat for us and then we're open until 31st.then we will close to have a good "bottom" clean of the kitchen until the 9th of January.Looks like we may be recording a piece for Radio Cymru on the 7th which will be broadcast on the 14th January in a program called "Blas" which means Taste.

Hope you all have a peaceful restful few days over Christmas, we'll catch up in the new year!!!

 Here's my "A team" Anwen, Kelly & Trisha all dressed up ready for the first Krampus night. I'm realy blessed with staff at the moment  such nice girls who work really hard. We have quite a family feeling with our staff which is really great!

Hve 3 Krampus nights behind us and 2 to go plus a few other party nights booked. We're actually a bit busier this December compared to last year .... thank goodness ..... all the gloom and doom about recession can be very wearing!

A few more tables left for christmas day, but we've already got a few more than last year.

Still have pressies to buy for family, although all my cards have gone ( mostly handmade by me!) and our Austria parcels & post have already got there!

Better go and get ready for the Ambulance service Xmas party tonight! Can't spend all my time on the computer!... or can I?
